If you live in Israel and want to sell templates, printables, fonts, ebooks or software, the main question is: where can the money land? Several popular platforms depend on Stripe, which does not support Israel-registered businesses. Here is what the sources we checked say as of October 2026.
| Platform | Works for Israel-based sellers? | Notes from the sources |
|---|---|---|
| Etsy (Etsy Payments) | Yes | Israel is on Etsy's Etsy Payments list; fee 4.5% + 2 ILS; no PayPal. See selling on Etsy from Israel. Etsy has its own limits on AI-generated content. |
| Gumroad | Yes, bank payouts in ILS | Gumroad lists Israel with ILS payouts. You need a government photo ID and proof of residence in that country (or a business registered there). Standard minimum payout is US$100 unless the country row lists a different minimum; Israel's row lists none. Gumroad pays only to a local bank account in local currency, and conversions use the exchange rate at the time of sale. |
| Lemon Squeezy | Yes | Its docs list Israel for bank payouts; PayPal payouts are supported in 200+ countries and regions. |
| Paddle | Possibly, software only | Israel is not on Paddle's unsupported list, but Paddle works with software businesses only, subject to review. Not for templates, courses or coaching. |
| Stripe (direct account) | No | Stripe does not support businesses registered in Israel. The common workaround is a US entity (such as a US LLC), which has its own tax and compliance cost; talk to an accountant first. |
Merchant of record, in plain terms
Some platforms act as a "merchant of record": they are the legal seller to the buyer and handle sales tax/VAT collection for you. The getpaidatlas page flags Paddle and Lemon Squeezy as merchants of record, and says they do not accept services such as coaching. Whether a platform handles VAT for you changes how much tax admin you carry yourself. Check each platform's terms for your product type.
Choosing, in practice
- You want built-in traffic: Etsy has a marketplace of buyers; you pay for it in fees: about 10% to 28% of the order total in the examples in our fee guide, depending on whether an Offsite Ad was involved.
- You bring your own audience: a payment-and-delivery tool like Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy takes a smaller cut of the sale, but you must find buyers.
- You sell software or SaaS: Paddle may fit; apply and see.
- Tax: In Israel, income is reported according to your registration as an osek patur or osek murshe; see the tax notes in the Israel guide. We are not tax advisers.
Etsy rule to remember for digital sellers
Etsy bans AI-generated functional instructions (patterns, planners with instructions, recipes, how-to guides) and prompt bundles, and requires AI disclosure and human creative input. See the AI rules summary.
Platform country lists change, and third-party sources can lag. Confirm on the platform's own page before you build anything on it.
