Is Printify Premium Worth It? A Break-Even Calculation

A paid plan on a print-on-demand service only makes sense when the discount it gives you is larger than what it costs. Here is the arithmetic, using the prices published on each vendor's pricing page on 2026-10-23.
The formula
Break-even monthly spend (at normal prices) = plan fee ÷ discount rate
"Spend" means the fulfilment cost you would pay each month before any plan discount, summed over all your orders. It is not your sales revenue.
Printify Premium
Printify lists Premium at $39/month, or from $24.99/month billed yearly. It offers up to 20% off all products (and up to 33% on new products).

Example: if a tee has a $9 base cost at normal prices, a 20% discount saves $1.80 per tee. On the $39 monthly plan you need $195 of monthly product cost, which is about 22 tees a month, before the plan has paid for itself. Below that, the free plan is cheaper.
Printful Growth
Growth costs $24.99/month with a 14-day free trial and offers up to 33% off custom premium products.

Printful also says your subscription is free for a year once your yearly sales reach $12,000, and Growth gives 25% off sample orders.
Cautions
- Discounts vary by product; the "up to" figures are maximums. Check the catalogue price with the plan on for your products.
- Printify's yearly price is billed up front and Premium plans are non-refundable; cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
- The two suppliers' base prices differ, so the cheapest plan is not automatically the cheapest supplier.
- A plan fee is a fixed cost. In a slow month you still pay it.
A sensible rule
